Genting adventure [21.12.09]

The clique of ten from last year was to find time to catch up over a holiday. Little did we know it would end up being just Vasanth, Kah Shin, Thomas, Kai Xin and myself only. We initially bought 5 bus tickets to Genting departing from One Utama but later changed plans due certain circumstances. Vasanth and myself were gonna hop into Thomas' car and we'd drive up there leaving the other two to meet us up there.

At the very last minute, precisely 6.01am, Thomas rang me and said he contracted food poisoning. So we were instructed to go catch the bus as well. Thing is, I live in Subang and Vasanth lives in Cheras; both of which are really far away. Plus we had to be at the terminal latest by 7.50am! With no other choice I literally ran outta bed, notifying the then still sleeping Vasanth, into the shower and out the door.

Then came the cab fair. 23 freaking bucks worth of it! But then again there was no two way about it. Kah Shin arrived bout 15 minutes after I did and the darling brought breakfast. How nice :) Kai Xin was next up and that's when all the laughing started.

First things first. The dear boy couldn't make it on time. Which is partially my fault =/ And so..

WE MISSED THE BUS!

Actually no, we didn't miss it. We watched it leave in plain sight. Thank God we managed to make money out of it though. Sold the tickets to some random couple and even got extra money hehe. Anyway, the next ticket we got up was at 10.30am. A whole two and a half hours later. We ended having loads and loads of time to kill.

Sat at the terminal for ages after Vasanth finally arrived and then headed into the mall we stumbled upon to be open. Walked around aimlessly in the rather empty mall, got some drinks and then it was time for us to board the bus.

Pretty uneventful ride up. Kah Shin and Kai Xin were busy chatting away from the moment they got on the bus till they got off haha. Vasanth and I were trying to catch some sleep time, having stayed up really late the night before. However that plan was an epic failure as the winding road wasn't exactly conducive, since we'd bump into each other at every corner. Settled to music and some chilling.

The astonishing gust of air that greeted us up in there was surprising. Didn't expect it to be that cold. Mist was incredible. Temperature was way low to the point the smokey effect came out of our mouths every time we took a breath. But ultimately, the wind killed us all. Chilled down to the bones.

the tortured frozen little centipede and her mother haha

see how bad the mist was? this was when it started clearing up abit actually.

view from our dumbo the flying elephant ride haha

Somehow or rather, I lived up to my name of the 'Iceberg' and even managed to pull off a sweat haha. I ended up being everyone's heater. Something is so wrong with my thermo-receptors haha.

The outdoor theme park was were we spent the entire day. Went on all the rides. The err 'ball shrink' look on Vasanth's face was p r i c e l e s s. For his sake, we sat on family rides too hehe. The worse for me was the Pirate Ship. The stupid ticklish feeling I cant explain was just too weird. Kah Shin and I couldn't stop laughing haha. Oh yea, the Spinning Teacups was also very trippy.

one of the not too scary family rides to please that certain someone hahahah

headache and trip inducing ride

Best ride of the day had gotta be the Flying Coaster. Two thumbs up! Vasanth's alerts and Kah Shin's shrieks and yells of fear made it even better haha.

We had lunch at the First World area midway through. Vasanth and I went on another one of our 'scenery' moments only to come back to the girls who surprised me with ice cream and candles.
Thanks again! :)

one of our scenery moments. don't think he knew I took this ;)

the surprise :)

At about six in the evening. We just had to retire to Starbucks for a drink and somewhere to rest.

Our return ticket back to One Utama was at 7.30pm from the stated platform 6. At about 7, the girls went to check the terminal out when..

WE GOT INTO DEEP SHIT!

There wern't any buses there that were meant to return. And so..the adventure starts here. We ran uphill from First World to the Highland Hotels only to learn that all buses back to KL/Penang/Singapore where in fact not there. Had to walk around aimlessly amidst the insane mist that prevented us from seeing past 10 feet past us. We were also afraid of being run over by cars, cause obviously they wouldn't be able to see us 'till its too late.

By the time we got back to First World, it was already 7.25pm and we had to apparently be at the Skyway station which was halfway down the hill. And so..

WE MISSED THE BUS, AGAIN!

There were absolutely no more buses back down except one to Titiwangsa, where ever that is, at 8.50pm. Ran off back into First world for dinner of which I had none cause I was already non feeling well. Damned lactose intolerance!

dinner at KFC when we noticed..

LIFE! Our new catchphrase. no i mean, catchword.

Then it hit us. How on earth were we to get back to our respective homes from Titiwangsa?! Before departure, we waited at the platform only to find nothing there again. We got really really really paranoid and pissed off in fact that it left us again. But it was just late, thankfully so. We were also afraid of plunging to our deaths in an accident or something since we rode a bus that was kinda dodgy and since we could barely see the road.

The ride back was eventful. Enough said hehehe :P Vasanth and I laughed so much, got into a little confusion and became as random as ever. Kai Xin and Kah Shin, who were seated behind us took our roles earlier in the morning, and settled for a some quiet time.

fail. i completely cut myself out haha

fail. looks weird.

cbf anymore. didn't even notice this one being taken. yes, thats how tired I was.

Finally got back at about 11pm I think? Kai Xin's dad dropped us all at my house. Again, thanks alot! By the time I got home, I could barely move. It was that fucked up feeling where your body has literally given up but your mind is still racing.

LIFE
